I AM STILL ALIVE, Barely....

Hey Everyone,

I feel so bad that I have been negligent with my blog for the past couple of months.  The last time that I wrote here, I was at Anime Milwaukee in February.  I also promised to put up footage from the panel.  Unfortunately, I have been dealing with a lot of personal problems at this time, and finals are around the corner as well.  I will be insanely busy this next two weeks, and I probaby won't be able to post anything during that time.  I just wanted to let you all know that I was still alive, just barely...

But I do feel like Mikasa Ackermann right now (from episode 7)!  I don't know why I keep going, but I just do!  School is giving me major anxiety, but I keep on going.  DAY BY DAY...

I hope to write on here much more during the summer.  I am planning to see if I can do audio reviews in the future, and I really want to finish "Attack on Titan."  The second season is coming soon, and the English dub cast sounds really good from what I have seen on YouTube.  So, I can't wait for that to come out!  All in all, I am just trying to survive like any other poor soul in college.  See you all soon!

Anime Milwaukee So Far

Hey guys,

I am happy to say that I am at Anime Milwaukee, and I am having such a great time.  There are so many "Attack on Titan" cosplayers.  It's awesome!  I wanted to show you all who I have been cosplaying as for the day.

I am Zoe Washburne from "Firefly."  I hope you all like it.  I am filming the "Bad Fanfiction" panel tonight, and I will be posting it sometime next week.  Love you guys!

Attack on Titan is AMAZING!

Oh my God!  This anime is absolutely amazing! I have spent the last two weeks watching this anime, and I don't think that I can fully describe the magnitude of which this show affects me.  I have only seen eight episodes, and my roommates and I are just itching to watch more.  It is very hard for a series to capture my attention during the first episode.  I usually wait until episode three to really see if I will stick with the show or not.  "Attack on Titan" got my attention as soon as I watched the opening sequence.  Oh my God!  This opening is perfect.  I will always regard the "Sailor Moon S" third opening as my all time favorite anime opening sequence, but the "Attack on Titans" theme song is just so god damn good!

The lyrics of the opening perfectly capture the true essence of the show, and that is survival at all cost.  Humanity is at the brink of extinction, and it is up to a group of the best soldiers to bring us back from destruction.  Their is a lot of symbolism in the opening sequence, but it fits seamlessly with what the show is trying to convey.  The animation is top-notch in not only the opening sequence but also in the show as well.

Every episode leaves the viewer on the edge of their seats, and their are cliffhangers on every episode (that I have watched so far).  Those cliffhangers are the worst.  When shit is about to go down (and you are just waiting for more), the show yanks the rug from right under you.  Then, you have to wait for the next episode to find out what will happen.  I don't know how people watched this week by week.  I am lucky, because I can just watch them all on Netflix.  I would die if I had to wait to watch it on Saturday (or whatever day it came on).  I would have died.  Due to my homework, I have to watch it every two to three days.  Those few days of not watching it drives me crazy.  I want to just go on the "Attack on Titan" Wiki and spoil everything for myself.  I want to know everything, but I want to experience the show as best as I can.  Therefore, I refuse to spoil anything for myself.

This show not only has amazing action, it also shows how the world affects the characters.  They are in constant fear of being devoured by the Titans, and you get to see how each character deals with the fact that they could die at any moment.  I love being able to see how characters react to the world around them.  It sucks when a show just focuses on one single theme/person and keeps running with it.  Here, you get to see different characters and connect with them on a personal level.  You feel their happiness, fear, sadness, trauma, and love they share for one another.  I love this show so much, and I cannot wait to watch more of it.

My roommates and I sorted "Attack on Titans" characters in the Hogwarts Houses.  Here are my suggestions.  Tell me what you guys think.  Mind you, these are only the characters that I have seen or heard of so far in the show.

Eren: Gryffindor
Mikasa: Slytherin
Armin: Hufflepuff
Connie: Gryffindor
Annie: Ravenclaw
Jean: Gryffindor
Levi: Ravenclaw
Sasha: Hufflepuff

I heard that they are going to do a prequel of this show!  I will be glued to my TV (okay let's be real here, my computer), and I will be watching every single episode if there is a prequel.

Anime Milwaukee 2014: Bad Fanfiction

Hi Everyone,

I am excited to be going to Anime Milwaukee again this year.  I am also proud to say that I will be hosting a bad fanfiction panel once again.  The last one was at Anime Midwest, and my friends and I will be hosting this one at Anime Milwaukee.  We already have some stories that we are planning to read, but we are open to suggestions.  If you know of any really bad fanfics, please leave a comment below.

I am also planning to cosplay as a really cool character.  I leave you all guessing until then.  I will post some pictures up after the con.  Here's the link if you want to check it!

In celebrating the spirit of anime this week, I have also written a post about a really cool anime that my roommates and I have started watching.  I am just in the mood for writing (or typing as one would say) today!
